MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—During a routine patrol on Sunday night, Marion Police Officer Greer stopped a vehicle for operating without functioning taillights. Upon initiating contact with the driver, she requested assistance from K9 Shanel for a free air sniff of the vehicle. Given that the car was occupied by multiple individuals, Officers Kent and Starrs also responded to the scene to provide backup.

As officers began to ask the passengers to exit the vehicle, they discovered a bag containing nearly 58 grams of suspected methamphetamine. Following the deployment of K9 Shanel, who alerted to the presence of drugs, additional bags of suspected meth and a meth pipe were uncovered. In total, approximately 63 grams of meth were seized during the traffic stop.

Two passengers were arrested on charges of possession, drug paraphernalia, and tampering with evidence. Both individuals also received probation holds, and one was found to have several outstanding warrants. The names of those arrested have not been released at this time.
