MORROW COUNTY, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—A Morrow County jury returned a guilty verdict on July 27, 2026, against Jill Kennedy for the charge of assault on a peace officer. The offense, a felony of the fifth degree, was decided following a one-day trial in the case of State v. Jill Kennedy.
The prosecution was led by First Assistant Eddie Bibler and legal intern Bryer Smith. Following the verdict, the court scheduled Kennedy’s sentencing for October 2, 2026.
Morrow County Prosecutor Andrew Wick commended the efforts of the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office and the Mount Gilead Police Department for their role in the investigation and subsequent prosecution.
“The Morrow County Prosecutor’s Office takes the safety of our law enforcement partners seriously and will continue to prosecute those who attempt to do them harm,” the office stated in a release following the trial.
