MANSFIELD, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—North Central State College Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Amber Wertman as its new Executive Director. With more than 20 years of distinguished leadership in nonprofit management and community impact, Wertman brings a proven track record of strategic fundraising, stakeholder engagement, and mission-driven results to the Foundation.
In her new role, Wertman will lead the Foundation’s efforts to secure philanthropic support, strengthen donor relationships through initiatives such as the Emerald Club, and advance North Central State College’s mission of removing barriers to higher education and providing lifelong learning opportunities for everyone.
Wertman most recently served as Chief Executive Officer of United Way of North Central Ohio, where she spent nearly 14 years building collaborative partnerships, overseeing community initiatives, and driving impact across Crawford, Marion, Morrow, Wyandot, and Seneca counties. Under her leadership, the organization achieved growth and new programming while maintaining exemplary financial stewardship.
A dedicated community servant, Wertman holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Franklin University and a Master of Arts in Strategic Communication from Ashland University. She has earned professional credentials including a Certificate in Fund Raising Management from the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, a Certificate of Nonprofit Board Consulting and Facilitation from BoardSource, a Certificate of Results-Based Accountability from Clear Impact Academy, and a Certified Leadership Coach (CLC) designation.
Wertman’s extensive volunteer and board leadership includes serving on the Third Street Family Health Services board, Galion Main Street board, Crawford County History Alliance, and numerous other roles supporting local history, education, and community development. She previously served as an adjunct professor and remains committed to lifelong learning.

Wertman resides in Crawford County with her husband, Tim, and their son Logan.
